Description:	The Emma Sweeney Agency is interested in hiring a bright, ambitious intern looking to gain experience in the book publishing world for the summer. While this is an unpaid, part-time position, we are willing to work with your school to arrange for the awarding of school credit. This job will be a mixture of market research, manuscript appraisal and various other tasks that come up on a daily basis. This is an excellent opportunity to receive a bird’s eye view of book publishing. The majority of our former interns have succeeded in securing entry-level jobs after graduation if that was their goal.
Length of Internship:	From May to mid-August. Dates are flexible.
Requirements:	A qualified applicant will have a strong background in both contemporary and canonical literature and a general familiarity with our current titles. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must, as well as an interest in the current book market. Applicants should have a critical literary eye and self-starter attitude.
Location:	Emma Sweeney Agency LLC is a boutique literary agency based in New York City.
